The word ‘mandala’ comes from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit meaning ‘circle.’  Although mandala's are far more meaningful than a simple
circle shape.  They represents wholeness ("holy"ness) and can be seen as a paradigm of life itself—a cosmic blueprint that reminds us of our relation
to the God and the infinite.  The world that, in the same instance, expands not only into our bodies and minds, but connects us to the universe.

Symbolizing both the material and non-material worlds, mandalas show up in all areas of our lives: the heavens (stars, planets and moons), seashells,
labyrinths, mazes, flowers, the cells of your body, your body itself, snowflakes and the odd manhole cover-anything that makes up a pattern.
Mandalas also show up as metaphoric circles of friends, family, and community.

Mandala, have now begun to emerge in Western spirituality.  Contemplation or meditation on the mandala has the potential (if we seek it) of
transforming how we see ourselves, our relationship with God and even our life purpose.

Likewise, the Native American medicine wheel, shields, dream catchers and sand paintings are powerful mandalas used for healing, unity and
transformation.

To activate the power of the mandala you only need to focus on it, meditate and consciously invite the power or meaning to be active in your
consciousness.  What you are ready to accept and learn will become available to you.  It does however take daily practice.

Just sit with the mandala in front of you, either propped up at eye level or held on your lap.  Surround yourself with white light and a prayer if you
like.  Then simply look at the mandala.  Use a soft focus or you can concentrate on a specific area of the mandala—whatever you feel drawn to do.
Ask for understanding and clarity of the mandala's meaning and how you can incorporate it into you daily life and meditate on the mandala.

The experience may bring up long held mis-beliefs or issues you are struggling with or that are in need of healing.  Don't worry, it only means that the
process is working.  Don't be surprised if different and unusual ideas or visions begin to make themselves known.  It is just your mind expanding and
integrating new knowledge, attitudes and ways of being.
Meditation with Mandala’s:
With the mandala's I create, I usually give you a short text and meditation questions to ponder while meditating.  Sometimes I leave it up
to the viewer to decided what the mandala means to them.  Below are several examples of my mandalas.  Most are available in 11 x 14 matted
prints for $65.00 each.  Meditation is nothing more than the ability to sit quietly and listen.  Listen to God, your guides, and your angelic
helpers even your own subconscious.

It sounds easy—and it is.  Except sitting and listening are the hardest parts.  We are use to talking.  We are always telling people what we
want, what they should do and how better the world would be if we were running things.  Not in so many words, but the effect is the same.
We especially tell God these things.  We tell God what we need or want and how He should give it to us.  How often though, do we stop to
listen to God when He speaks to us?

God speaks in many ways and most often through people.  HE sends messages through the words of others, through music, through movies and
very often through coincidences.  But did you know He would like to speak directly with you?

Meditation or sitting with the purposeful intention to listen is the easiest way to hear Him.  Or His messengers—your Angelic guides.  It
takes nothing more to speak with God than the desire and intention to do so.

You can sit and meditate for better health and to bring about a positive change in yourself or for healing for yourself and others as well as
peace in the world.  You can increase your creativity, your prosperity or anything.  You can also eliminate unwanted thoughts or actions.  Just
about anything is an excellent reason to meditate.  All it takes is desire and intention.

I would advise finding a meditation group in your area.  An experienced meditation facilitator can help you tremendously with your focus and
there is nothing quite like the energy and power of a group meditation.

Make yourself comfortable in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. No crossed ankles or legs.  Your hands should be resting in your lap or
on the arms of the chair.  You may play soft meditative type music or nature sounds if you like.

When you’re ready, state your intentions to be filled with the presence of God and surround yourself with God’s loving healing white light.

Breathe in deeply and slowly for a count of ten and then out slowly for a count of ten.  Repeat this about ten times, concentrating solely on
your breath.  This gives your mind something to think about rather then the monkey chatter that usually fills our heads.  Tell your feet to
relax and feel them getting heavy.  Move up to your legs, your torso, arms, shoulders, neck and finally your head.  Make sure your head
remains upright, balanced evenly on your neck and shoulders.

If you lose your way and your mind begins to wander, that’s okay.  Just pick up where you left off and begin again.

You may repeat a sacred word or focus on a candle flame if it helps you to empty your mind.  Sacred words can be anything—the name of God,
Jesus, or the words to your favorite song.  Anything that helps you focus your thoughts on a single thing.

This practice is not easy.  It takes practice and more practice.  You may only be able to sit for ten minutes at first.  But like anything else,
the more you do the better you will become.

As for listening to God, if you stated that intention, that is what you’ll get.  Just remember that God is subtle and you may have to look for
His message.  It may still come through the usual ways, but the more you do, the more serious God sees that you are and will respond with
the same commitment to you, that you made to Him.

Try to make your meditation time the same time each day.  It helps to train your subconscious to be quiet at that time each day and will
eventually stop trying to distract you with groceries and you’re to do list.

Coming out of meditation is the reverse of going in.  Bring your focus back to the here and now and wake your body up.

Simple—yes.   Easy—not so much.
