Below are three excerpts from my book "The Art of Meditation". The text is meant to be thought
provoking and to provide you with a different perspective to help you eliminate the filters and bias's in
your life.
The mandalas are used as a meditation tool. Pick one and read the corresponding text. Meditate, using the
Mandala, on the concept presented and see what comes up for you. Perhaps an issue to be healed or perhaps
enlightenment. Perhaps nothing.
Let the words rest in your mind and then continue to meditate and pray on it for the rest of the week. If it
serves you, wonderful. If not, toss out the idea and go on to the next.
If you prefer, you can just read without meditating. But, I can guarantee you that you will be short
changing yourself if you do. There are no short cuts to transformation and spiritual growth—a painful
spiritual lesson I wish for you to avoid. Don’t cheat yourself out of the whole experience, but as in all
things, the choice is yours to make.

Each and every day is a new beginning. An opportunity to evolve and change. Another chance to change our
lives for the better—permanently. This book and set of Mandalas or meditation cards represent but a small
portion of my journey for enlightened awareness and to God. Like all things from God, this book started
small and got bigger. It has become as much a gift to me, as through me...
...I trust that in some way you find yourself in these pages and can take comfort in the fact that we are
being encouraged to more God like thinking and more spiritual ways of living our every day lives. You can
transform your life by choosing a new way of seeing—with your heart fully open.
God and your Angels will guide you to the truths contained in this book—if you trust them to.
One of the healthiest ways to rid ourselves of the stress and unpleasantness of life is to laugh at our situation. Stand
back, become a witness and see your situation objectively. Will it really matter in a year from now who was right? In a
hundred years there won’t be any one left who will care anyway. We devote so much time to the negative aspects of our
lives and we take ourselves far too seriously. We need to lighten up and laugh it off. Step away from the situation and
you just might see it for what it really is and it just might give you reason for a really hearty belly laugh.
When we are angry, we are not in control of our own minds. The person you are angry with is in control. They occupy
your entire mind. They are receiving your time and energy. Some carry anger for years, letting it steal their joy and
feed their pain. Why do we give so much energy, so much life force to someone else just because we are angry? Why
waste so much precious time when there is so much more to receive, if only we didn’t have anger living in our hearts.
Nothing else can live and grow in the same place as anger. If anger is living in your heart it must be kicked out and
banished. Otherwise you are committing suicide by keeping anger in you. Anger produces stomach acid, heartburn and in
the worst cases can cause a heart attack. Laughter is one of the best ways to banish anger forever. Step outside your
situation and take an honest look. I’ll bet you find much more to be grateful for than you have to be angry for.
Meditation Questions:
Can you laugh at yourself? Are you able laugh off an argument? What would it feel like to be free from anger? How
much of your power do you give away by being angry? Can you be objective about your life? Try retelling your situation
in the third person, as the narrator of a story about another person and see if that makes a difference. Use your name
instead of me or I.


Every one is wounded. Some of us have deep festering sores and some have barely noticed scrapes. One is not better or
easier than the other—just different. The best way to heal your wounds is through kindness and a helping hand to those
still bleeding and weak.
Of course, there is a time to shut down completely, while we begin the healing process. So long as we have a flesh and
blood home to live in, we will be having issues and always be in need of some healing. We can choose to let go and move
forward, to not live in hiding with our victimness and feed on our past despair. Moving forward can be quite difficult at
times, but it must be done in order to grow spiritually, transform our lives and move away from the pain toward healing.
We’re all at a different place on our journey and you are invited to be mindful and gentle with others, so as not to make
your own wounds deeper and more painful. We heal more completely when we can touch the place of pain and still hold out a
hand to lift another up. Reaching out to give a helping hand, always without a doubt, works miracles of healing for
everyone.
Meditation Questions:
Are you willing to let go of your pain? Do you enjoy telling and retelling your story of abuse and pain to others? Do you
live inside the pain? Remember that what you speak with your mouth, you reinforce. Are you talking about healing? Or
are you talking about your pain? Do you reinforce your condition? Are you ready to move forward to new joy? Can you
truly and objectively listen to your own words and figure out what you are feeding? If not, can you seek help? Are you
ready to accept healing?
Having a lot of money is not bad. Neither is having no money. It is your attitude about money that determines if you have
it or not. Many people live happy and fulfilled with or without money. If you always go though your life feeling broke,
with your pockets empty, perhaps you need to take a look at how you talk about money. It is what you confess with your
words that creates your reality. If you want more, start speaking words of gratitude and increase instead of
complaining. Do you complain about high prices? Why not try paying for things with a smile, after all those things are
serving you well. Your electric bill means you had warmth and light. You phone bill means you could talk with a friend
across town. Putting gas in your car means that you can go to the store or travel. Bless your money, your checkbook, your
bills and then watch your financial situation change for the better. Stop speaking works of poverty. Stop telling the
universe you don’t have enough. Stop telling God that you can’t find a job. Remember, what you are thinking is what you
confess with your mouth, and your attitude is right there for everyone to see and to react to. You get what you give.
Have a prosperous attitude and you’ll have prosperity. Speak words of poverty and lack and you’ll have poverty and lack.
It takes much hard work and diligence to develop positive thinking and to always speak positive words. Constant self-
monitoring can be hard, especially in the beginning. Seek out a prosperity support group. Or better yet, start one. Any
number of self-help books are available to help you attain a more positive outlook. Strangely enough, even if you don’t
have an addiction, try doing a 12-step program. The steps are all about changing the way in which we see ourselves and
improving our relationships—with others and with God. There are many 12-step programs or support groups for
money/debt issues. Just look around and I’d be willing to bet there’s one in your neighborhood or at the very least, online.
We were meant to be financially prosperous—it is one of our divine rights. Claim you divine right by the words you speak.
Meditation Questions:
Do you feel worthy? Do you badmouth those with money? Do you always talk about how poor you are? Do you feel like
there is never enough? Do you feel comfortable having a friend point out to you when you are being negative?
